Poetic Wales

Wales is about the size of Massachusetts, but for a small country, it manages to cram quite a bit in. We’re not just talking about the 600 castles, plus mountains, valleys, stunning coastlines, and beaches. Whether you’re after culture, exercise, adventure, or peace and quiet, they’re all here.

Poetic Wales programs will explore the ancient heritage and also introduce you to the Wales of today. They include a dramatization of the work of our best-known poet, Dylan Thomas, and a demonstration of why Wales is synonymous with song. In addition, Wales is participating as a featured nation at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, which begins at the end of June and runs through July 5. This series is being organized by Visit Wales, working with The Smithsonian Associates.
