Contributions are absolutely critical to fulfilling The Smithsonian Associates’
mission. The Smithsonian Associates is its own entity within the Smithsonian
family; however, we receive no federal funds—not a penny. Ticket sales
and other earned income cannot completely cover the costs of underwriting
The Smithsonian Associates’ numerous events, performances, and educational
activities. Your support can make these programs possible.
By donating to us you:
- Make it possible for us to produce and present more than 1,000 seminars, courses, lectures, and special events each year though our Resident Associate Program
- Enable us to reach out to over 75,000 children, their parents, teachers, and schools each year through more than 30 productions by Discovery Theater
- Allow us to bring the Smithsonian’s world-renowned scholars and researchers to communities, schools, and civic organizations across the country
- Help us present the nation’s leading historians, curators, researchers, celebrated personalities, and scientists.
