Pack your bags because you’re going to Italy–Lidia’s Italy! Tonight Lidia Bastianich, America’s interpreter of Italian food, reveals the singular flavors and traditions of many lesserknown regions of Italy, including Molise, Liguria, and Umbria—and explores hidden treasures in the well-known gastronomic domains of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. In a conversation with Joe Yonan, Washington Post food and travel editor, Bastianich details the delightful variations in cooking and daily life in the mountains, farmland, and coastal communities she has come to know well. In addition, she tells us how to translate the gastronomic language of Italy in our own kitchens.

Bastianich is a chef, cookbook author, television host, and restaurant owner. With daughter Tanya Bastianich Manuali, she wrote her latest book, Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy (Knopf), which will be available for signing after the program.
