Photographers, artists, graphic designers, Web designers, and computer enthusiasts can benefit from this introduction to Photoshop, the industry-standard software used to edit pictures and create designs for print and web use.
Through demonstrations, discussion, and extensive hands-on work on individual computer terminals, learn how to use Photoshop or Elements. Demonstrations cover the interface, layers, masks, retouching, sharpening, sizing, and color correction. Emphasis is placed on how all the pieces fit together into a logical workflow. Printed instructions are provided.
The class is appropriate for beginners and those who have used Photoshop or Elements in limited ways and wish to learn how to use the components in a unified manner. Class work is done in Photoshop; however, the procedures are the same for both programs. A computer with Elements is used to demonstrate the tool and menu locations in Elements.
There is time during each session—particularly in the lab session that concludes each course—to practice new skills and work individually with the instructor on creative projects.
All students must bring a USB flash drive (at least 512MB is recommended) to save class work.
5 sessions, 3 hours each
